The Career Opportunity
We are seeking an Associate General Counsel to join our Marketing Practice Group. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Head of the practice group and engage in close collaboration with members of the Global Legal team and senior business leaders across the company. This position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a hybrid work model requiring three days per week in our San Francisco or San Jose office and the option to work remotely for two days.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal support across a diverse range of areas, including marketing and advertising compliance, product promotion and development, global regulatory issues, token listings, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with a worldwide team of attorneys to bolster the company's international expansion, support local market initiatives, and advise the marketing and advertising departments.
- Oversee and manage relationships with outside counsel, ensuring their advice aligns with the company's strategic business plans and risk tolerance.
- Provide support to the litigation and regulatory practice group on international regulatory inquiries and matters as needed.
- Partner with product and business development teams to facilitate and achieve key company-wide projects and objectives.
- Efficiently manage legal inquiries from various business units, offering clear, strategic advice on legal concepts and risk management that supports the overarching goals of business leaders.
Qualifications We Seek
- Active membership in good standing with any U.S. state bar (California Bar membership is preferred) or eligibility to practice in California as registered in-house counsel.
- Current residence in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Proven litigation and regulatory experience from a top-tier law firm and/or an in-house legal team, preferably within the financial services or cryptocurrency sector.
- Demonstrable experience advising on legal issues pertaining to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology—or a powerful interest and knowledge in the field—coupled with a fundamental understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory environment.
- Self-motivated and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, and multicultural setting.
- Exceptional ability to advise business teams effectively and establish trusted relationships.
